SVERDLOVSK REGION

VSMPO-AVISMA has signed a bilateral agreement with the Sverdlovsk Region’s Ministry of Health to advance healthcare services in Verkhnyaya Salda. The strategically important document was signed on September 10 by Tatyana Savinova, Deputy Governor and Regional Health Minister, and Dmitry Trifonov, the corporation’s General Director.

Under the accord, the parties will jointly design and implement a comprehensive concept for developing the healthcare system of the Verkhnyaya Salda municipal district. Plans include preparing medical and technical specifications, mapping out specific steps for building new pediatric and adult outpatient clinics, and improving the quality of in-patient care.

These commitments form a part of a wider action plan to boost the socio-economic development of Verkhnyaya Salda and prepare for the town’s 250th anniversary. The town hosts one of the corporation’s key production sites, VSMPO-AVISMA’s press office told RusBusinessNews.

Regional Governor Denis Pasler had earlier highlighted the need to raise healthcare standards in Verkhnyaya Salda, naming the construction of pediatric and adult outpatient clinics – through joint efforts by the corporation and the regional government – as the most pressing task.

"Verkhnyaya Salda is one of the anchor towns of the Sverdlovsk Region. The corporation and the regional government share a single goal: to create a high-quality healthcare system for Salda residents. Together, we can achieve this," Tatyana Savinova said.

VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation will take the lead on developing the design and cost estimates for the new clinics. Once completed, the investment volume, funding sources, and implementation schedule will be determined.

"As a socially responsible company, we already maintain our own medical infrastructure, supporting health of more than 15,000 employees and retirees. Our task is to ensure that in every town where VSMPO-AVISMA operates, medical care meets high standards. The corporation’s leadership is ready to continue all necessary measures to reach this goal," Dmitry Trifonov emphasised.

Healthcare development is a key part of VSMPO-AVISMA’s charitable programs. In recent years, the enterprise has purchased two ventilators, a mobile X-ray unit, two vehicles, and COVID-19 protective equipment for Verkhnyaya Salda Central District Hospital. It has also equipped the hospital’s urology ward and helped procure intensive-care monitors, including one for the maternity unit.

Since October 1, 2024, paramedics with the emergency services in Nizhnyaya Salda and Verkhnyaya Salda have been receiving monthly payments from the Empathy Charitable Foundation supported by Mikhail Shelkov, a VSMPO-AVISMA's shareholder. This is 25 paramedics in Verkhnyaya Salda and 20 in Nizhnyaya Salda to date.
