Svetlana Trenikhina, Minister of Education of the Sverdlovsk Region, has talked to students and schoolchildren from Verkhnyaya Salda. The meeting took place as part of the Engineering Saturdays project at the Prospect Professional and Industrial Cluster distinguished by numerous regional and federal awards.

Speaking to the senior pupils, Svetlana Trenikhina walked them through her school studies, friendship, mentorship, and self-education. The Minister who used to study for two higher education degrees at the same time, shared her personal experience that guided her choice of career.

"Lead the charge – keep experimenting and developing. Success is driven by self-motivation, hard work, and responsibility," she concluded at the end of the meeting.

Later on, the Minister had a tour of the cluster, visiting its laboratories and workshops, and was presented with a plan for further development of the town’s career guidance initiative.

"School kids in Verkhnyaya Salda benefit from dedicated attention and support of adults who provide the most favorable conditions for them. This effort is evident and is undoubtedly worth our respect," she remarked.

Prospect Professional and Industrial Cluster operates on the basis of the Verkhnyaya Salda Aviation and Metallurgical College named after Alexey Evstigneev with the support of VSMPO-AVISMA – the town’s major enterprise. The cluster offers the schoolchildren a chance to try one of 11 professions, including machining, 3D engineering, laboratory work, and civil construction with the subsequent opportunity to gain on-site experience and get their first salary at the corporation's titanium production facility. The project enables adolescents to discover their professional calling through real practical experience," the press office of VSMPO-AVISMA reported to RusBusinessNews.

In 2024, Prospect Professional and Industrial Cluster won the first prize in the Employment of Minors Aged 14–18 category in the All-Russian Competition for Best Youth Employment Practices run by the Ministry of Labor of Russia. The cluster’s work supports the objectives of the Active Employment Support federal project as part of the Workforce national project.

Within the Engineering Saturdays project, schoolchildren have informal meetings with politicians, professional athletes, and top executives from major enterprises.
