THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST.

Schoolchildren from the Sverdlovsk Oblast who want to study English in a native English speaking country will go to Malta instead of London. The cause for this change of course is the raging in Great Britain swine flu.

3 groups of school kids were going to go to London to learn English in August 2009. However, due to recommendation of the regional RosPotrebNadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights) to limit the number of children going to the UK, the operator offered going to Malta instead.

According to the data obtained by RusBusinessNews around 70 schoolchildren were sent to the UK through Ekaterinburg linguistic centres in the summer 2009.

Several teenagers returning from Oxford were hospitalised with the suspected swine flu on 20-21 July. This is why RosPotrebNadzor recommended measures for the prevention of spreading the virus. The Ekaterinburg Koltsovo airport is currently implementing an integrated plan for meeting organised groups of children coming directly or via Moscow from countries with bad epidemiological situation.
