Belkomur Project Will Be Presented To Vladimir Putin

The megaproject of the Perm Krai, Komi Republic, and the Arkhangelsk Oblast Belkomur (Beloye (White) Sea - Komi - Urals) will be presented at the 8th International Investment Forum "Sochi 2009". The forum will start 18 September in the future Olympic capital. 

Belkomur envisages the construction of the trunk railway Arkhangelsk - Syktyvkar - Gainy - Solikamsk, as well as the construction of a deep water port in Arkhangelsk. This will be included into the transnational Barents-Link line (the railway route from Norway to India). The total length of the line will amount to 1,252 kilometres. Belkomur will shorten by 800 kilometres the distance cargo trains have travel on the way from Siberia to the White Sea ports.

JSC Russian Railways included the project into the Programme for the Development of Railways of Russia up to 2030 and the Transport Strategy of the RF until 2030. In the nearest future Belkomur will pe resented to the Committee of the RF Government. It is expected that the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will see the project there.

The Perm Krai government informed RusBusinessNews that the implementation of the project will be carried out in the state-private partnership format. Investment from businesses will exceed 480 billion roubles.
