The multinational energy company Enel is going to invest more than 500 million Euro into energy facilities of the Sverdlovsk Oblast. The multinational energy company Enel is going to invest more than 500 million Euro into energy facilities of the Sverdlovsk Oblast. In particular the construction of the new combined cycle power unit at the Sredneuralsk SDPP is valued at 350 million Euro.

OJSC Enel WGC-5 informed RusBusinessNews that the 300 megawatt units of the largest Russian coal power station Reftinskaya SDPP will have used up its resource in the next few years. Enel management permitted WGC-5 to start their reconstruction in 2010. The volume of investments amounts to 160 million Euro. As a result the station's capacity will increase from 3,800 to 4,200 megawatt.

The investment programme of OJSC Enel WGC-5 envisages the construction and commissioning in 2010 the state of the art combined cycle units PGU-410 with the efficiency ratio of more than 57% at the Nevinnomysskaya SDPP (unit 14) and Sredneuralskaya SDPP (unit 12) and the construction of dry ash and cinder removal at Reftinskaya SDPP.

The commissioning of new combined cycle units with the nominal fuel consumption 30% lower than old ones will enable the strengthening of Enel's presence in the Russian electric power market and create the necessary excess of generating capacity for the modernization of existing working power stations.
