2 April 2010 Italian Visa Centre will open in Ekaterinburg. Central Visa Bureau will be providing for its activities under the agreement with the Consulate General of Italy in Moscow.
The Centre informed RusBusinessNews that people living in the four Russian regions - the Perm Krai, the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, and Tyumen Oblasts - will no longer have to travel to Moscow to obtain Italian visas. Now they will be able to submit the set of documents required to obtain a tourist, business, or student Schengen visa here in Ekaterinburg.
Similar Italian Visa Centres are already operating in Nizhniy Novgorod, Novosibirsk, and Samara. Central Visa Bureau will be opening an office in Sochi after Ekaterinburg.
A month after the opening of the new Italian Visa Centre a direct flight between Ekaterinburg and Rome will be launched. The Ural Airlines will be running a one flight per week service starting 2 May. It is planned that this service will operate all year round.
