USA can launch a missile attack on Iran in October

The probability of the US military aggression against Iran is gaining weight day by day. The United States may launch a bombing and missile attack on the Islamic Republic during the first three weeks of October. This forecast was made by Mikhail Delyagin, Director of the Institute for Globalization Problems, in his lecture in Ekaterinburg on July 29, 2010, "RusBusinessNews" informs.

In his opinion, the increasing threat is caused by two factors. The USA cannot allow nuclear weapon to be in possession of Iran they do not exert any influence on. In the meantime, the Islamic Republic will make this weapon in 2011 – or not later than 2012. Furthermore, due to the decline in his popularity, Barack Obama needs to make an impressive move on the threshold of the midterm election to the US Congress. M. Delyagin forecasts that the attack on Iran and upswing in patriotic sentiments among the Americans will add votes to the Democrats in November 2010.

According to the well-known Russian economist, the USA will not be able to use precision-guided weapon during hot months; therefore, they will have to wait till October. By that time, Israel will also be ready to use nuclear weapon against the Iranian Muslims.

The local nuclear war can be opposed by China that receives 7-9% of the required oil from the Islamic Republic. Beijing will not be able to make up for the loss of fossil fuels – Russia is not ready to increase its supplies of oil to the East to meet the requirements due to the lacking infrastructure.

The attention can be re-switched to the situation on the Korean Peninsula where China acts as an arbitrator in the relationship between the two countries and has significant influence on the position of North Korea. If Pyongyang embarks on military escalation in autumn, the USA will have to focus their efforts, including the military ones, on providing support to South Korea.
