A Governor is the highest ranking official in the Perm Krai; Oleg Anatolyevich Chirkunov has been the Krai's Governor since 1 December 2005.

Born 15 November 1958. Education: 1981 - the Perm Polytechnic Institute, the Aviation Engines Department, majoring in "Economy and the Organization of Machine Building Production". 1988 - the Perm State University, Law Department. Ph.D. in Economics. 1983 - 1985 - the Second Secretary of the Leninskiy District Committee of the Young Communist League of the city of Perm. 1991 - 1994 - an expert of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Switzerland.  1997 - a Deputy in the Legislative Assembly of the Perm Oblast. 2001 - the Perm Oblast Administration Representative in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the RF. 2004 - Acting Governor of the Perm Oblast.  From 2005 - The Perm Krai Governor.

The highest body of executive authority in the Perm Krai is the Government of the Perm Krai. Valeriy Sukhikh has led the Government since 4 March 2008.
Deputies of the Chairman of the Government: Yakov Silin (development of territories), Yuriy Utkin (economic development), Anatoliy Zubarev (human potential development), Tatyana Galitsyna (management of state offices), Yelena Zyryanova (development of infrastructure).

Legislative power

The Perm Krai Legislative Assembly is the highest body of authority of the legislative power in the region. Nikolay Devyatkin is the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly.
