The Chelyabinsk Oblast

The Chelyabinsk Oblast is one of the most harmoniously developed regions of Russia.
The region ranks 4th in the Russian Federation in terms of industrial output volume; 9th in terms of housing construction and agricultural products output; 10th in terms of retail trade turnover; and, 11th in terms of gross regional product (GRP).

The Oblast's metals industry is unequalled in Russia. The region is a monopolist in the production of 15 types of industrial products, including various sorts of steel and rolled products, cadmium, zinc, talcum, magnesite grain, and tram cars.

The Chelyabinsk Oblast, with an area of 88,000 square kilometres, is one of Russia's largest regions. This area is comparable to that of Hungary, Portugal, or Austria.
